In short
A DHA Islamabad transfer moves ownership from seller to buyer on DHA's own record. In outline: the property is verified, dues are cleared, both parties attend the transfer at DHA with the required documents, and the new ownership is recorded. Requirements and fees change, so confirm the current list with DHA before your appointment.
The transfer in outline
- Verify the property and agree the price and payment terms in writing
- Clear all outstanding dues so the property can be transferred
- Book the transfer with DHA and prepare the documents it requires
- Buyer and seller attend in person (or through an authorised representative) for identity verification
- Pay the applicable transfer fees and taxes
- DHA records the buyer as the new owner
Documents usually needed
This list is a general guide. DHA's current requirements are the final word, and Land14 confirms them for your transfer.
- Original CNIC (or NICOP for overseas Pakistanis) of buyer and seller
- Recent photographs
- The property's original allotment or ownership documents
- Proof that dues have been cleared
- Power of attorney documents, if a representative is acting for either party
Taxes and fees
Property transfers in Pakistan involve government taxes as well as the authority's transfer fee. Rates change with each budget and depend on factors such as tax-filer status, so check the current rates with a tax adviser or the authority before you agree the deal.
